Insurance Coverage for Acupuncture
At Balance Art Acupuncture, we work with many major insurance providers to help make acupuncture care more accessible for our patients.
We are an in-network provider with several insurance plans, and many patients are able to use their insurance benefits to cover acupuncture treatments for pain management and related conditions.
Insurance benefits vary depending on your individual policy, deductible, copay, and visit limits. Our office can help verify your insurance coverage before your appointment so you can better understand your benefits.

Verify Your Insurance Benefits
To help you understand your coverage before your visit, we offer insurance benefit verification.
You can click the button below to schedule your appointment online and submit your insurance information securely online, and allow 1 to 2 business days for us to verify your insurance before your appointment.
or send a photo of the front and back of your insurance card, along with your date of birth and address, to our office email: info@balancearttcm.com
Once we receive your information, our team will review your plan details and contact you with information about your acupuncture coverage, including potential copay, deductible, and visit limits.
We recommend submitting your insurance information as soon as possible after scheduling your appointment.
If this is a last-minute scheduled appointment and there is not enough time for our office to verify insurance benefits in advance, the first visit may need to be paid out-of-pocket at the time of service. Once we complete the insurance verification, if your insurance plan covers acupuncture, we will process any applicable refund according to your insurance policy and coverage.
If We Are Not In-Network With Your Insurance
If we are not in-network with your insurance provider, you may still be able to receive reimbursement.
We can provide an itemized receipt (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Coverage for out-of-network acupuncture services depends on your specific insurance policy.
HSA and FSA Accepted
We also accept HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) payments for acupuncture treatments.
Many patients use HSA or FSA funds to pay for acupuncture as part of their healthcare spending benefits.

Common Insurance Questions
Does insurance cover acupuncture?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for acupuncture, especially for conditions such as pain management, musculoskeletal issues, and related health concerns. Coverage depends on your individual insurance policy, deductible, and visit limits. Our office can help verify your benefits before your appointment.
How do I know if my insurance covers acupuncture?
The easiest way is to submit your insurance information through our Verify Your Insurance form. Our team will contact your insurance provider directly to verify your acupuncture benefits and explain your coverage before your visit.
Why should the clinic verify my insurance instead of calling the insurance company myself?
Insurance policies can be complex, and acupuncture benefits often include specific limitations such as visit limits, deductibles, or copays. Insurance companies often provide limited or unclear information when patients call directly. Our office verifies acupuncture benefits regularly and understands how to interpret insurance plan details. By verifying your benefits on your behalf, we can provide more accurate information about your potential copay, deductible, and visit limits, helping avoid any potential billing issues later.
How long does insurance verification take?
Insurance verification typically takes 1–2 business days. Some insurance may take longer. We recommend submitting your insurance information as soon as you schedule your appointment so we can verify your benefits before your visit.
What if my insurance does not cover acupuncture?
If your insurance does not cover acupuncture, you can still receive treatment at our clinic. We also accept HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) payments.
In some cases, we can provide a superbill (itemized receipt) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
What happens if my appointment is scheduled before insurance verification is completed?
If your appointment is scheduled on short notice and we do not have enough time to verify your insurance benefits beforehand, the first visit may need to be paid out-of-pocket. Once your insurance benefits are verified, if your plan covers acupuncture, we will process any applicable refund according to your insurance coverage.
Do you accept HSA or FSA payments?
Yes. We accept both HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) payments for acupuncture treatments.
